§ SC1-20. Districts.

  • The City shall be divided into District 1, District 2, District 3, District 4, and District 5 for electing the members of the City Council. The voters in each District shall nominate and elect one (1) Councilmember on the first Tuesday of November, beginning on the first Tuesday of November 2015.

    Beginning with the election on the first Tuesday of November 2015, the boundaries of Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 shall be those boundaries as set forth below:

    First District.

    All of that portion of Wicomico County bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Corporate Limit Line of the City of Salisbury and the northwesterly shoreline of the Wicomico River at or near the southwesterly corner of the Chesapeake Shipbuilding property: thence proceeding northerly along the Salisbury Corporate Limit Line to the thread of Johnson Pond opposite Deer's Head State Hospital; thence proceeding southerly along said thread of Johnson Pond to the west shoreline of the North Prong of the Wicomico River at W. Isabella St.; thence proceeding southerly along said shoreline to W.     The boundaries of each District thereafter shall be fixed by the Council from time to time by ordinance and a description of the District boundaries shall be on file in the City offices, reasonably available for public inspection during normal business hours.
