§ 5.16.010. License required—Fee—Renewal.

    No person shall represent or hold out that any sale of goods, wares and merchandise is an insurance, bankruptcy, mortgage, insolvency, assignee's, executor's, administrator's, receiver's, trustee's, creditor's, forced, removal or closing-out sale or a sale of goods, wares and merchandise damaged by fire, smoke, water or otherwise in the city unless that person shall have been in business in the city for not less than six months and unless that person shall have first obtained a license from the city clerk to do so and shall have paid a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) for one month or any factional part thereof.

    B.

    Such license may be renewed for periods of one month each; however, any and every renewal of a license may be issued only if approved by the city clerk. The license fee for each such renewal license shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per month, and such fee shall be prorated on a daily basis for periods less than one month; provided, however, that the city clerk, may, in her discretion, waive such fee in its entirety if such renewal license shall be requested and approved for a period of seven consecutive calendar days or less.
